The 2020 covid-19 pandemic changed not only the lives of four amazing musicians and longtime friends but brought the tempo of their touring stride to a complete stop. These incredibly talented friends, colleagues, and creators, who together have toured and performed on the same stages around the world for decades were suddenly hit with the devastating blow of no longer touring and performing to live audiences. Yet, their passion for music, the love for their fans, and the vision of their leader Erben Perez was the catalyst that pushed them through the temporary black hole that the entire music industry was caught in and thus the group a tempo was formed.

A Tempo who is Erben Perez, Alexandra Taveras, Ozzie Meléndez, and Franklin Torres; appropriately named after the musical term for “returning to the original tempo,” used their talents, captivating energy, and refreshing sound, to reconnect with their listeners worldwide and help heal the wounds of the devastation of this pandemic through their music.

Collectively, a tempo is a powerful lyrical band with rich vocal harmonies and tightly layered brass arrangements. Individually, these musicians are equally dynamic. They have lent their talents and abilities on multiple platinum selling records and have shared the stage with some of the most recognized names in the music industry, including Marc Anthony, Tito Nieves, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Jennifer Lopez, Bruce Springsteen, Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, Ray Charles, Spyro Gyra, Ruben Blades, Willie Colon, and a host of other award-winning artists across various genres. While the pandemic forced live public performances to cease and venues to close in 2020, a tempo continued to record and released their international chart-topping debut single “solo sin ti,” A tempo has released a total of eight songs and is excited to entertain new and existing fans once again all over the world!
